Steareth-200 is a non-ionic co-emulsifier. It is mixed with other emulsifiers, used to create the product consistency desired. In Hair colorants Steareth-200 modifies the gel network to allow a better spreadability and application of the color cream, as well as easier dispensing from the tube.

Steareth-21 as surfactant is used for skin and hair-cleaning purposes and as emulsifier and solubilizing agent in Hair Care products, Hair Colorants and Developers. It helps to keep the product stable over time and is also a "wash-out" component in Developers and Hair Colorants, means it helps to remove all residues after a Hair Color application.

Stearic Acid serves to clean scalp and hair by mixing with oil and dirt and enabling them to be rinsed away.

Stearyl Alcohol helps to form emulsions and prevents an emulsion from separating into its oil and liquid components. It also reduces the tendency of finished products to generate foam when shaken. When used in the formulation of skin/scalp/hair care products Stearyl Alcohol can act as a lubricant on the surface, which gives soft, smooth appearance.

Styrene/PVP Copolymer produces a continuous thin coating on skin, nails or hair where it helps to maintain it in the desired position. This property is also used in cosmetics for diverse purposes, e.g., in forming facial masks, make-up films, nail polishes, or hair styling/ holding products. In regard of the hair-holding properties the hair fixative imparts holding or style-retention properties to hair as it forms strong, light-stable films with high water resistance wherefore we use this ingredient in some of our Styling products and Conditioners.

Sucrose in hair care and Styling products is used as humectant which attracts and retains the moisture in the air nearby via absorption, drawing the water vapor into or beneath the surface and hence improves the hair feel by hydrating it. It also reduces the loss of moisture from a product during use. Sucrose is also an excellent emollient why it is used in Conditoiners where it softens and smoothens the hair.

Sucrose Distearate and Sucrose Stearate are used in some of our Care and Styling products due to their emollient and emulsifying properties. They help to maintain the softness and smoothness and pliable appearance of the hair. Emollients function by their ability to remain on the skin surface or in the stratum corneum to act as lubricants, to reduce flaking, and to improve hair feel and sheen by granting flexible hold to the hair.

Synthetic Fluorphlogopite is used in some of our Hair Colorants. Here it serves as a base for multi-layered, composite pigments such as pearl effect pigments where it is coated with one or more layers of metal oxide, mostly titanium dioxide. As it also has improved light reflection which enhances the vibrancy of the hair color after application.

Synthetic Wax as an abrasive or exfoliant agent is an ingredient which is added to cosmetic products to rub away or scrape the surface layer of cells or tissue from the skin. As an Emulsion Stabilizer it provides a firmer texture to cosmetic products. While it is not a true emulsifier, it helps to stabilize emulsions by thickening the lipid (oil) portion of products and hence keep emulsions from separating into their oil and liquid components. Synthetic Wax as a Viscosity adjuster is a material used to increase or decrease the thickness of a liquid product.
