  • Session cookies: these are cookies which last for as long as you keep your web browser open and expire when you close your web browser.
  • Persistent cookies: these are cookies which stay on your device for a set period of time and expire at a fixed point in time or if you manually delete them from your browser, whichever occurs first.
  • First party cookies: these are cookies set by the website that you are visiting at that time, either by us, or by a third party at our request.
  • Third party cookies: these are cookies that are set by a party other than that of the website you are visiting.
  • Social Media cookies - Wella websites use cookies set by Social Sites (such as the Facebook “like” button) which enables you to share and engage with our Content via these Social Sites. These cookies are set to provide the service, application, or resource requested. Without these cookies, your request cannot be delivered appropriately, and our website may not function as expected or in a secure way. These trackers are set to manage essential actions, such as requesting website visual elements, page resources, or due user login/logoff. We can also use these cookies to set up essential functionalities to guarantee the security and efficiency of the service requested, like authentication and load balancer requests.
  • Functional cookies: these are used to provide enhanced performance for some website resources and services as well as sometimes to adopt a higher level of personalisation on user experience. These cookies are set to provide quantitative measures of website visitors. The profile created regarding your browsing interest and behavior is used to customize the ads you see when you access other websites.

We may also aggregate and de-identify your information to create customer segments and share with our licensees and partners.

We may also use cookies for targeted advertising purposes. For example, we, or with third party vendors, may use your information to provide you with targeted advertising on third party sites, including Social Sites. These advertisements are either: (i) “contextual” (meaning they are presented due to the webpage that you are viewing); or (ii) “behavioural advertising” or “interest-based advertising” (i.e. where advertisements are shown to you based upon your interests which we have inferred from your information including demographic, geographic and interest-based data). We may use targeted advertising to specifically include or exclude individuals who have registered for our products and show you the services that are most relevant to you.

We may match your browsing activity on one device, such as your mobile phone, with your browsing activity on another device, such as your tablet, to ensure our advertising is tailored to you. To allow us to do this, our preferred technology partners may share information, including your browsing patterns, geo-location and device identifiers, and we will match that information to the information in our user base by identifying the browser and devices that appear to be used by the same person. To learn more about how we share your information, please refer to our Privacy Notice.

When you: (i) sign in to the Wella website using a Social Site or other websites; (ii) access Social Sites using the Wella website or other websites; and/or (iii) submit content to Social Sites or other websites using the Wella website; that Social Site or other website may use cookies and similar technologies to collect data about user behaviour for their own purposes.
